Will removing towing package really make a difference?

i have the spare tire removed, and i was wondering if removing the tow package is worth it on the 1/4 mile.... i see that there are only 8 bolts so it shouldn't be a hard job to do..

and if that does not make a difference, what if i removed that and my tailgate (i was running w/ a tonneau before)

but first i want to know about the towing package, how much does it weigh? should i feel an increase in power/speed? will i see better times?

my goal is to get 13.6's... i ran 3 13.7's yesterday.

Not a hard job at all. Just make sure you have a good brakerbar to get those 8 bolts offs. Hitch it self wieghs about 60-70 pounds. Just took mine off last Sat so I can't help you with the 1/4 mile times, but it sure makes the back of the truck look a lot cleaner.

Mine's been gone since right after I bought my L. They are tight! Keep the t/g though and keep it up.

You can buy a hitch plug from your local FORD spare parts for ~$4.00 and it cleans things up.
