Question "tied frame"

Ok, I have a question. This is not really about a lightning, but I thought you guy's would know.

I recently bought my wife a 2001 mustang, so we put her blazer up for sale...

The guy who bought the blazer from us had just bought his wife a 2003 mustang mach 1.....

It was a very cool car, shaker hood and all... however they said that it had a "tied frame" and that it came from the factory that way.

My question is .... what is a "tied frame".

Thank you for the help.

Mustangs don't have a complete frame under them and when you put "frame ties" on them it ties the front with the back to keep the body from twisting. This equals better handling & traction.

Mach 1's come with Factory Sub Frame Connectors.

This is like the post above to tie the front subframe to the rear subfrance.....Hence the name Subframe connectors.

Hope this helps.

Cars making loads of HP and torque need them of they will crack out the C-pillars.

Yes it does and thank you all for the quick response. They kept throwing that term around and like a typical male I did not want to admit that I had no clue what they were talking about.

The mach 1 was a very cool car , loved that shaker hood.
