nitrous safety switch

Ok,I have the proper fuel pressure, and i have made up a little fixture with a regulator gauge and so on so i can adjust the fuel pressure switch,im thinking of setting it somewhere between 45-50 psi, does this sound about right??

im getting 50-53 psi of fuel pressure @WOT

I was told that these switches are set at 50psi from the factory, mine is not closing the contacts so i have to adjust it and just want to make sure im on the mark

thanks Jerry

The switches are adjustable, just pop the rubber cap off the top and you'll see the allen head adjuster. They come preset to 35 psi. There should really be no reason to tamper with it.

Thanks Sal,I think the switch is out of adjustment because the solinoids arent hitting, like i said i checked the fuel pressure first which is fine,so now im going to hook up my regulator setup i made and set the switch.

What should i set the switch at??

is 45-50psi to conservitive??

thanks Jerry

There's no reason to have it set higher than 35psi. I'd suspect maybe a wiring issue or something else. There is an easy way to check. Just connect the two wires going to the safety switch together so it takes the switch out of the loop and see if the system works. If not, something else is wrong. If so, then make sure that switch is set to 35psi. If you set it higher, it's not going to work all the time because your fuel pressure will normally rise with rpm because you are making more boost, so if you have it set high, it's not going to work right.

Thanks Sal,I did jump it and it does work fine that way,but for obvious reasons i dont want to leave it jumped,Ill set it @35psi,i kinda thought 50psi was a little conservitive.

Do you have the NOS switch? Maybe it is set higher than the NX switch...

It is the same switch, but they may be adjusted differently. The NOS kit raises the fuel pressure upon activation. The NX doesn't. Which would make me believe that for safety maybe the NOS switch would be adjusted higher than the NX switch just incase...
