I'm sorry to say, I must be getting old. First of all I hate having a front plate on mine but I agree with Gator. I got a ticket last year for not having a front plate and ended up with a fix it ticket. I put the plate back on in order to avoid the fine and it's still there. I just didn't want to screw with it anymore. I'm sure 15 years ago that plate would have been off the day after I was found to be in compliance. The only cure I know of for getting old is death.

The solution to this is to have a shop design and cut a "fake" plate.

You know those vinyl "stickers" they attach to the windshield with your registration when you buy a new car/truck? Well, you have a shop design and cut one to the size of your plate. You then apply that to the front bumper for daily driving or whatever and remove it as you wish....that's what I did.

Cost me $45.

Thumbs up No front plate

I was in an accident with mine. The cover was replaced, and the license plate holder was not. I'm hoping that just gets me a "fix it" warning.

Oh yeah, and my girlfriend's dad is a state trooper

Hey if it gets you by, then great, but what you are suggesting is forging a license plate, which is a more serious crime than no plate. If you got in an accident or pulled over, the cop may not be so kind.

With that said, I'm running with no plate, but I figure I should have at least one strike. If I get a ticket, then I'll probably conform to the law.

here's the answer to your riddle ...

Your driving around with a Bud between your legs and a joint hanging from your lower lip - or some snuff under the seat or in the glove box - residue on the dashboard - seeds in the ashtray - half a package on coming from Hooters and the 'POL - ice' pull you over - CAUSE WHY - ???

Cause you didn't have a front plate, NimRod - or your window tint was to dark and you get 'Jacked and Booted' and find your silly little a$$ in the 'Whosgow' and your calling Daddy or Mommy on your cell phone to bail you out -

YOU BE WISHIN' you had that front plate on then, boy - and then you'll really know how people can be a$$holes ...

Bottom line, 'know it all' - don't give the Man any reason to pull you over he already holds all the cards ...

In addition to that statement Cops around here get 4 hrs overtime for showing up in court !!! Missing plate, window tint type tickets are easy prey and even easier money!! For that kinda money Id write a ticket to every one I stumbled across.....Let the courts decide whos right or wrong..Its not all about being an a$$hole, these guys like $$$$$ just as much as the rest of us!!!!
