Would using these modified a-arms lower the amount of bump steer instead of using drop springs?

Very good point. Have to see some photos of them installed. That logic makes sense since the spring sits lower. Most will depend on the shape and position of the lower arm. The tie rod and control arm must remain parallel through the entire range of motion.
