Wheel exchange programs
Wheel exchange programs
I have a 2001 Ford Lightning with the factory wheels. I would like to have the same wheel but chromed. Does anyone know of an wheel dealers that have an exchange program?
I found one called AAA Rims. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I dont know what they charge, but you can get Motorsports(ford) chrome wheels from Steeda or Gene Evans. They both priced me 00's at $275ea. so for not much more than knock offs you can get the real thing and put drag radials on your silver ones . Thats my plan.
Watch out with AAA Rims. They do not stand behind their products. I bought chroms replica 20's from them last year. Wash and detail the L and rims every week and spend a good amount of time on the wheels. (1) month later the chrome on the inside of two of the rims began to bubble. Spots the size of quarters. Spoke to AAA rims and even sent them pictures. I use Zaino wash on the rims and change the soap and water for each rim. They told me the warranty will not cover the two wheels. They said the three year warranty only covers the chrome on the spokes. The bubbles now are spreading and the rims look like ****. Stay away in my opinion.
I did the chrome exchange program thru Discount Tire, who in turn uses Wheel Concepts http://www.wheelconcepts.com
The (4) 18" '01-'02 style chrome wheels were 550.00 + shipping both ways (to return my original rims) which was 144.00, plus 80.00 for the chrome center caps. I got them dismounted then mounted to the new wheels, balanced, and "high performance" chrome valve stems for 40.00, and of course local 8.25% sales tax.
Not a stellar deal, but I cannot afford anything else right now. The good thing is that they look a lot better than the factory silver wheels.
