Update on my new best, some good some bad
First: The bad news is
My transmision let go this morning.
The good news is
It let go right after doing a 11.13 @ 124 mph at englishtown.
I knew The trans wasn't working right and I even brought it to the place who built it a few weeks ago. They told me nothing was wrong and it is just the new clutch pacs they use feel different.
Jim D told me it would have done a easy 10 second run if the trans had shifted properlly last night.
The good news is the trans will be fixed or replaced by wednesday. I also stole Jims own personal car. a Black 03 Cobra untill my truck is done, not a bad loaner car. LOL
Thanks Jim I owe you one.
As far as the run last night, we were just trying to learn how the new setup need to be tuned. We ran a real rich and safe street tune. Hooked up the wide band O2 sensor and the scan tool. We made a few runs and learned a lot that will help Jim tune the truck. This morning Jim burned a new chip and took it out for a short road test. About a mile from his shop the trans just let go. Lucky for me it was close to his shop, and didn't happen to me on my way back to massachusetts.
We did the 11.1 at 4809 lbs with everything in the truck, Interior, tailgate, toneau, console full of junk. I know I can drop about 100 or so lbs. So all in all more good than bad. Once I get the trans fixed, and some better slicks I will have a 10 second daily driver even at full weight.

I'm sure a tranny will be next on my list. I have unexpectedly needed to do heads and cams, so that has taken priority. Hopefully I can finish this season with the stock tranny. Great times Don, I'm sure 10's are right around the corner.
124 mph trap speed is a 10 second run for sure. Hope you get it all straightened out Don and rip some 10 second passes.
It's great to see everyone hitting these awesome ETs. Just keep in mind that as you make this kind of power, other things are going to start going south on the truck
. We ran 10.70s this time last year, and it took all summer to get all the gremlins out and get the truck doing it consistantly.

Glad to hear you made it home, and made it home in a black 03 Cobra.
I know you have been having problems with your tranny so it was a good thing for it to let go while you were there and you will be on the road again with it soon.
The silver beast will be in the 10's very soon.

Don's transmission has been acting up for some time now.
It has been sliding into the shifts.
He was running 18 lbs of boost last night.
10.7 A/F and 14 degrees of timming and a terrible 60 Ft.
With the right tires he will pulling 1.4 60 fts.
The amazing thing about this is the truck scaled in at 4,800 lbs.
With better 60fts., and 21 lbs of boost which he does have the pulley for I will beleave we will see 10.5 and 10.6 out of his truck.
Congrates Don.
