Tonight's The Night!!!!
Okay guys here's the results. I would have posted this last night but I couldn't get on line for some reason.
As bad as I hate to admit it I lost by 1 and 1/2 cars lengths. The truck was a 69 Chevy Stepside with a mildly built 350 with 8.5 pounds of boost and a 125hp shot of juice and a big stall. We both got excellent starts and I was surprised that I could launch so hard on the street with Nittos and my 4.10's with no wheelspin at all. At about the 60 foot mark I hit the 75hp shot and put an instant car length on him. We stayed that way for close to the 1/8th mile and then at the 2-3 shift he pulls ahead by 1 1/2 cars and stays that way until the 1/4 mile. I couldn't believe that he beat me. It was though being beat for the first time on the street but I shook his hand and said good race.
Now here is the weird part. On the way home I was easing my way along and it seemed like my truck was acting funny. So when I got home I popped my hood and one of my idler pullies was broke off and my Supercharger belt was gone. I was like WTF!!!! It broke the bolt off the idler pulley. I have no idea how this happened. I didn't hear anything during the race that was unusual but then again the Chevy was running straight pipes so it would have had to be awful loud for me to hear anything anyways. Any idea what might have happened?
I have already arranged a rematch so I will keep you guys updated. Oh and the 100hp jets are already in!!!!!

HI!... Just curious? If the SC belt fell off and the compressor was'nt spinning, then how did the engine stay running? Shouldn't it of stalled as soon as the belt fell off. Or is there some kind of bypass that allows you to still run the engine in N/A mode in case the SC belt does break?
Neal, the truck will run with the s/c belt off. I know because I have been driving like this waiting on my long block. Yes it does suck and yes it does still bust the back tires loose going into 2nd gear. One more thing, Gregg Evans is the man.
Yeah with the 100hp shot it's all over for him. I just can't explain how the idler pulley broke off and I lost the supercharger belt?
The funny thing about all this was when I showed up to race this guy he didn't want me to race him but rather his friend's drag car with tag's. I was like WTF!! I gave him a hard time until he finally agreed to race. To bad the belt decided to part ways. Oh well next time I guess!!!
