all the major tuners are good, it just comes down to who you want to work with

I went with JDM internals. If you don't get something well built, I was told the pistons and rods slapping will sound like a diesal. Don't hold me to this, but I belive Jim has been building 03 blocks. More beef to the bone!

Like Probleminfected said, ]
all the majors have them.
I found a person local who is a Master Engine Builder and thats who I had build mine.
I guess it's like how much do you want to spend?
How fast do you want to go?

Peace, Suavy

I dont think any of the tuners build motors. They all have other shops do it for them.I havent talked to all the tuners about this but you should ask them if they actually touch the motor or not.If you live in a town over 10,000 people, you probably have a few Master ASE engine builders in your town that do the rebuild with their own hands and you can talk to them while they do it.

Make sure you find someone who knows modular motors. I plan on going with Race-Related in Tampa unless a supporting vendor is willing to do a better price on the same stuff.

Jason M. knows a real good engine builder that can give you a deal. Give him a call and he will hook you up...

pick whomever calls you back!

I called around the the major tuners when I was researching my new longblock recently. All of them use the same parts, generally speaking. So the question is who do you feel comfortable handing over 3K+ to?

I called Sal first, but he told me he wasnt building engines anymore. He would sell me the internals but I'd have to find someone locally I was comfortable with. No.

I called JDM second. First time got an answering machine. Left a message. No reply. Called back a second time, got someone who promised to call me right back. To date, still no reply.

Called REM next. Paul answered and said he'd have to call me back. 10 minutes later, he's on the phone. I've spoken to him numerous times since then and he's answered 90% of my questions. I'm still waiting on pics of the engine internals and the flow numbers, but the motor arrived last week and should be installed next week. I'll post an update then.
