Brake Pads

Can anybody out there with chrome or polished 20's, tell me what brake pad to go with to eliminate as much brake dust as possible, and also doesn't squeal? My stockers squeal and it drives me nuts! Thanks, Jeff

I installed them on a SuperCoupe Thunderbird, and also on a Crown Vic patrol car. Great pads!!

LOL When I went to NAPA to buy all the parts for the patrol car (full job, front & rear, complete....the right way), I said "Gimme the most expensive pads that you have". Then I said" Put 'em on the County account". I figured I was spending my tax dollars.

Not necesserally--different NAPAs will price them differently, at least in my area they did. They have differing price levels. Consumers get the 'high' price while DIYs 'may' get a lower price. Of course, mechs get the lowest price. Ask for their lowest pricing and you may be surprised....

I think my fronts were $75 and the rears were $55...???

There used to be a guy selling the ceramix pads on ebay for $90 shipped for all 4 wheels. Thats where I got mine from. Believe me when I say they hardly dust at all.

napa ceramic's is what I've been using on all 4 for about 20K now. I love them, hardly no dust and its white dust so it doesn't make the chrome look to bad at all, the white dust wipes off really easy with no effort and they never squeal on me.

I wish I could get them that cheap, my area napa sells the front for 125 and the rears for 90 bucks!!!!!!!! expensive but there's a trick to having them. napa will replace them if you crack them for free!!!! so when your about to do a complete rotor and pad swap (and the cramics will last long enough to where you have to change rotors too) just heat those bastards up as much as you can and you'll get them to crack and you'll get a free pair of pads too!!! I've done it once already with no questions asked!

I hear Hawk pads a pretty good. They have different compounds from street to race. For a daily driver you would probably want the street type. Race compounds, from what I understand, can cause more rotor wear. Some race type pads don't stop better until they get heated up, so on a daily they may not function as well as a regular compound.
