Question 2004 Marauder?

I need to haul more people then my L or my Saleen can handle.

I am looking at doing a Kenny Brown Marauder S, but I cannot find out if anyone knows anything about the 2004. I know Ford dropped the ball in the marketing dept on this car like they did with the SVT Mustang and the Gen I Ls. ( I bought my Gen I L for dead cost, plus the dealer threw in all the L accessories he had in the parts dept! You don't get these deals anymore!)

I have heard that the Marauder will be discontinued. I have heard the LM knows it is underpowered and will correct this in 04.

Anyone out there know any thing? Kenny Brown is itchin to take my money, but I don't want to have a Gen I Marauder if there is going to be a Gen II!!

Either way, that Kenny Brown Marauder is sick! It looks like an old people car, but can kick the chit outa 99% of the cars on the road! It looks so sweet IMO. Has a very agressive look to it, just like the older Impala SS's, with the deep dish rims and everything.

According to Motortrend, here's the deal. The 2004 Marauder will be its last model year, and it will be identical to the 2003, aside from the option of Silver. They were originally going to do the 390hp 4.6 from the current Cobra, along with a 6-speed auto from ??? for 2005, but the idea was canned, due to less-than-expected sales....

I can't imagine the sales being THAT bad, though, I see Marauders all over the place...

Magnificent car, though. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy one, ESPECIALLY that Kenny Brown!!!

Cool

Tell ya what I did. I bought a 2 year old CrownVic and did all the typical bolt ons but added a 4.10 and truetrac.

It'll haul 6 people comfortably, tow a boat, and still run mid 15s in the quarter w/2.1-2.2 60 fts.

You ought to see the look on ricer kids faces when they get spanked by my Vic! It's priceless.

WOT

here's what i'd do. buy a crown vic...convert the motor to a 03 Cobra motor with supercharger, put in the 6 spd tranny, put some flowmasters on it, get me some cobra R rims and paint it black

Then you are in the minority

The marauder was slated to sell 18,000 - 20,000 units. Actual sales so far have been less than 3,000 units. At this rate, the marauder will be more limited than the '99 and '00 Lightning.

Wow... I've literally seen at least 5 of them, in the past week! I sure as heck wouldn't mind one...

Marauder

I saw in one of the mags that Pauls High Performance down in Jersey did a cobra motor swap into a Marauder, this is the car ford should have built, the stock Marauder is I hate to say it " a pig" Ford should realize that when you drop 30 plus K on a performance vehicle you don't want to be out- gunned at every traffic light (The Boss 5.4 truck is another one that comes to mind). If they want to make package sell, give it some teeth, I think this package with the Cobra drive train could have all the makings of the next Grand National. just my .02 Todd

Ford managed to build a real nice car with the Marauder. Unfortunately, Chevy already 'been there, done that' back in '94-'96. If Ford would've upped the ante some by say, making it noticeably faster, I think it would've done better. I'll stick with my original opinion of the car- oink!

That guy had too much money for his own good. He bought 2 Marauders, one to daily drive, and the other to send to PHP. However, he had PHP swap out most of the drivetrain with 03 Cobra parts. So why even get a Marauder? IMO, they're not that special and if I was going to buy something to tear down completely like he did, I would just settle for a used Crown Vic to toy with and not drop the extra coin on a brand new vehicle that's marked up because of the 32 v, etc. already. But then again, it's his car and his $$$...
