Unhappy Upper Pulley Tool...

Hey, I just got in my Reichard Racing ultra-grip upper pulley... BUT, I have no tool for it. Does anyone here know someone who rents them, or have one I could borrow? I saw that LFP has one for sale... But I'm not really interested in paying as much for the tool, as I did for the pulley...

Any ideas? Thanks!

JLP has but don't know if he rents them . South Florida Pulleys (www.southfloridapulleyhq.com) rents them but it's still pricey. You can remove the blower snout and get someone with a press to remove and replace the pulley.

I paid waaaaaaaay more for my tool, than I did for the Pulley.
Then it broke while installing the Pulley, sorry but I never had
it fixed or maybe I could help you.

Johnny has a new style one that suppose to be cake to use,
and it should cost much less than the others.
Call him and ask, you got nothing to lose

That has got to suck. Worst part is, I used to have one. About a year ago, I was going to do the upper... I sold the pulley, and gave away the tool.

Thanks, though. I'll give Johnny a call today... Wish me luck getting through that busy signal!

Douconsulting,

Write Johnny an e-mail, he answers late at night

Hey I see your in Jersey, why not make an appointment
with JDM to do the install ???

Not sure where everyone else is, Jihnny's in PA I know,
Sal (PSP) live minutes from me here in eastern Long Island,

Sounds like it would be worth a trip to JDM (appointment)

I have heard of an option that works, ""but it's crazy""
People use a dremel and cut the old one off
Then put the new Pulley on an electric Oven top burner
Til it's real hot, through and through, and then somehow pick it up and it'll slide right on. Of course then you must wait some time for it all to cool down before replacing the bolt and belt.

Good Luck

Yeah, I called JDM about it today. It would literally cost me less for them to install it, than for me to buy the tool... 1 to 2 hours, at $75/hr... It's probably the best option, but I'm not really flexible on when I can do it.

Honestly, I'd think about the crazy option... But I'm afraid of the pulley deforming... It's one of the new ultra-grip pulleys, and it's REALLY thin aluminum... Can't weigh more than ½lb....

Krix, I'll let you know what I decide to do. If I end up aquiring a tool, you're more than welcome to use it, once my new pulley is on.
