May-be a little extreme

Everything I've read says are intercoolers are one of the best. I might be all wet here, but my thinking was to increase the tank capacity. So for about 150.00 I bought a 20gal fuel cell and some 3/4" hose and put it in rear, havent been able to test yet but has got to work. 20gals of ice water if you please or 5gals. cant hurt weight transfer either. Who knows for sure about anything with these trucks ***** that should work dont. All I know for sure is about 1/2 of all the tuners should be in jail. Oh ya tank has a quick drain also, so you could actually tune your suspension maybe. Ed

Thumbs up

Tim is rite on the $.I am now offically pulley'ed.I won't say I was in favor of it.But when I was up at JDM's I saw the temps changes. With the stock pulley running 150mph the temp was the same as with the 4#er pulley and heat exchanger. So I know that it works.Remember I can heat sink an anvil out in the dessert running the speed that I do and I feel that exchanger is a worth while investment if you do ANY form of driving.Stan
PS with the pulley [4]I am getting up to speed in about 1/3 the time as without it.

There is a good article i read that was linked off here a LONG time ago that explained what an inter-cooler did and how it works. Essentially it is a big heat sink. The ides is that the system keeps the temps down over the short run. The system is sized based on the idea that on the street or the strip you wont be in the boost [WOT] more than about 10% of the time. So you have a long time to cool the inter-cooler system back to normal between runs. Similar to the description of the super cooler in the concept. It works for short term then needs recharge time. Our inter-coolers will work at 100% boost duty cycle BUT the effectiveness drops fast after initial boost

Runs like Ruslows that are long and high heat need help in the cooling dept He is clearly using boost for longer duration and the % duty cycle is MUCH higher

Guess you haven't driven on the NJ Turnpike much, huh Doug?

Thats the best advertisement for the heat exchanger I've ever heard!

As far as the spal fans being a waste of money, they help......some, by pulling air thru the exchanger at low speeds. And as Vinnie said, it's a piece of the puzzle. Those 1 or 2 extra ponies get hard to achieve after you have pasted the 430+ mark
