Question 555R's ?

For those of you running them.
1) How may miles are you getting from them?
2) How bald do you run them?
3) How may times due you take it to the track?
4) Would you buy them again?

1) Never found out. Tried running them on the street, but soon took them off.
Two major downsides to the Rs, besides the short tread life. They are very
sticky, so they pick up every little bit of gravel and throw it into your wheel
wells. I got tired of the sound. But worse, they are very sticky, so they pick
up every little bit of debris, especially the sharps. Get used to fixing flats if
you run them on the road. They may be D.O.T. tires, but they are race tires
meant for smooth, clean tracks, not the streets.
2) Till they are corded.
3) Just twice to the strip. They work very well there. Autocrossed on them,
too, adequate but not great.
4) No. I'd get Hoosier slicks for the strip, and Kumhos for the track.

1. I have a little over 8K miles on them, and they are not wore to the wear line yet.
2. I'm going to run them until the tread is level all of the way across.
3. I have taken it to the track a few times.
4. yes

comment: They work well on the street and even in the rain. Now I wouldn't suggest getting all crazy with them in the rain, but they do work good.

I just got nitto drag's a couple of weeks ago. Went for state inspection, guy says you need rear tires. I explain that they are new, less than three hundred miles,he says, well I'll do it this time.
Used them at Cecil 4/12 60' 1.88 and 1.87 not to bad, but I had 1.84 and 1.85 on F1's. Like someone else pointed out they pick up alot of debris,So for me they are not worth it. I would NOT recomend them. Next time new F1's and slicks.

1) I have probably about 10k on mine and they are worn down to the tread bar.

2) I'm going to continue to run them until I see nylon. Nitto actually says they function well as a drag radial even after the wear bar shows up.

3) Twice a month during cold season, once a month otherwise.

4) I'm debating this issue right now. I may be moving soon to a totally different climate and there may not be a track near me so I'm going to wait and see. If it's a relatively warm climate and there is a track nearby, yes I will get them again.

Only had mine about a week, so cant say much on tread wear yet.
Im running 28 lbs. in them on the street and they hook really good! Mine is not a daily driver and it doesnt see many trips to the track, so Im hoping to get atleast 10K out of them. At $550 a set of two, I hope they last that long! They look mean back there too! I posted pics of mine on here last week, do a search on "Nitto" and you should find my post. I would buy them again.
