Going to Milan Tonight, hope the rain holds off!

I'm Taking the truck to milan tonight, a friend ask's me last night if i wanted to go w/ him and just watch everybody, and i said yeah, and an hour later i called him back and said, well i gotta at least run the lightning a couple times.

so, i hope the rain hold's off a bit to get some runs in.

this will be my 1st time w/ the lightning any tip's? i figure im just gonna hold my foot on the brake and rev it just a bit, then just punch it when it turns green... or is there a better way for these trucks?

i have no idea what kinda time im gonna have. i figure it could be anywhere from 13.4 to 14.2... i have 20's that hurt, but i have a bassani exhaust and a K&N air filter w/ air box mod, and for shifting purposes i have a shift kit (similar to line mod).

so what do you think? times, take off, etc.

Here is a tip...........DO NOT PUNCH IT AT MILAN That track cant hold slicks it sure wont hold F-1's. Remember they just repaved it and there is NO rubber laid down yet. If you want a good time your gonna have to learn how to ease into the gas.

I just looked at dopplar and it looks like rain anyway......

Good luck if ya go........

Cool

I'm planning on being there Fri at 4ish. (02 silver)

Since they repaved I'm not sure if these tips will help?

But last year, I got my best bone stock 60fts at Milan by slightly reving to about 800-900rpms then rolling into the throttle 100% over about a 1/2 to 3/4 second timeframe. That got me down to consistant 2.1 shorts with only 2500 miles on the truck. (new tires)

Not sure what to expect now?

Rich

Take some tools with you and drop the sway bar when you get there. That should help a little on your launches.

Cool

loosebolt, Yep I'll be there. But tomarrow a few of us from work are gonna hang out and run a bit. I'd like to get a few shakedown passes on the truck/track before next weekend to see how it's gonna do since the mods.

I hope it hooks better than the street! In temps below 65-70F I can't go WOT in 1st gear.
It just spins, then spins another 50ft after the 1-2 shift.
