OK, have a question..tuners welcome

I have been waiting to finally gather all the mods I want installed before I get my new flip chip installed. I almost have all the parts but not just yet. I currently have a single program superchip that I dont want to use in the mean time since I think it shifts too hard for normal day to day driving. I took off the chip but since I have the C&L 85mm maf it set off the SES light, I cleared the code by disconnecting the battery but it came up again. My question is what harm could I do if I ran around for a few monthes with no chip and the 85mm maf? I dont have the stock maf or I would re-install it and skip the bs. Any ideas? I want this chip off my truck asap.

Could be in danger of running lean. No idea about the C&L products. If they are anything like the old Pro-M MAF's chances are pretty good you are lean. Hit the dyno and check your a/f. If you can't clear the code by disconnecting the battery it probably is a hard code. Have to scan it to clear it. Or the problem is still there creating the code. Put your stock MAF back on.

dont have my stock maf anymore or I wouldnt have a question. I cant just jump on the dyno , there is only one near me I even know of and getting away from work isnt possible. I was only wondering what the ill effect would be with the stock program and the 85mm ... I would think the only thing that would make it run lean would be the program...

Didn't some of the aftermarket MAFs cause a lean condition? Dunno if it would be enough to do any real harm..especially in this warm weather...
