MTX Thunderform Install

About to pick up an MTX Thunderform for the L and I was wondering how it mounts and if any panels need to be removed or if it just drops in. Thx.

Just drops right in. 2 screws hold it down.

Of course you will have to take your plastic utility box out.

Have an '03 so removing the tool box is one less thing i'll have to do. I am wondering if it would be possible to velcro it in instead of bolting in it.

Just use 2 long self tapping screws.Very easy.

I am no audio expert but I would think velcro would not hold the box down enough and cause vibrations.

I had both in my 98 (tool box behind the seats and jack under the passenger seat) before I installed my stereo.

I have an 01 and the jack is mounted under the seat. I never heard of the jack being mounted in the tool box. And if you're toolbox isnt behind the seats, where is it?

Mine is not bolted at all. The seats are so close to it that it stays in place by itself. Makes it a lot easier to remove for the track too.

I wanted to go but had other things already planned. Plus, I wasn't really ready for it. My new skins should be here by thursday, just in time for saturday's race at E-town. I got the XP/QT combo, rears only.

BTW, I finally put the shackles in. That should help my 60' (remember my truck looked all jacked up). I picked them up from JDM back in early December, but just never got around to it. Took like 10 minutes. In fact, took longer to get the truck up on jack stands. The only mod I have sitting around now is the underdrive pulley set I picked up from Ruslow. I am waiting for the e-fan setup though so I can do them at the same time, but I haven't decided which one to get. I am leaning towards the Flexilite setup, but I want to compare the loudness of it to the other setups.

Think I am going to shoe horn a pair of 12s into the thunderform. It has plenty of air space and depth. Will have some pics in the next few days.
