reprograming the pcm question

Question reprograming the pcm question

most of you guys know that my "L" is currently undergoing some
warentee work as well as a set of it22's and a 5lb pulley
when i last talked to the dealer mechanic he said he would recomend reburning the e prom "Eraseable Programable Read Only Memory" to the current specs which in my best guess is the 03 specs do you guy's think i should let them change it?

The ONLY update for the Gen 2 Lightning is for the 99s, to reflash them to an 00 calibration. There is no update for 01, 02, or 03. You COULD reflash an 01 or 02 to an 03 calibration, but there is really no reason to.

sal mine is an 00
so i should tell him to leave it alone?

BTW: sal if you get a chance look at my post on con rods, i'm courious to hear what you have to say on that as well

If you have an 00, you shouldn't get a later year reflash. It will be a different MAF, different gear ratio, and a few other things. Plus the 00 PCM is the BEST one out there, if you flash it to an 01-03 code, you will be limiting what can be done because Ford changed things in 01 that make is less mod friendly.
