Nitrous Questions Need Help Please
I need some help from those of you who have installed NOS on your Lightning.
There are a lot of folk stories about nitrous so I wanted some straight up info from my Lightning Bro's!
Have you all found any major problems running it?
What system do you run?
Where did you buy the kit?
Did you install it your self?

I use a Zex Wet System 55-75 HP (Currently using 65 HP)

I've juiced it on the street a good 8-12 times,
I ran it's first Nitrous 1/4 Et at Cecil Saturday,
Ran (2) back to back 12.0's at 112.6 MPH
Both with 1.6 60 ft times on Hoosier 28x10

Rob, did you run the juice on your street program or your nitrous program when you where running only your 4# lower? Did you launch on the spray? Also did you do any motor only runs to see how much ET you gained from the 65hp shot?

I guess you didn't read the other post, Plus the video of my run is posted here too.
My 1st run was spuddering all the way down
and it ran a crappy 12.8. For some reason I thought it might be not enough timing, so I switched to my Street/Strip Gas Program,
16/17 Degrees of Timing (LIKE YOU ALWAYS TOLD ME TO DO)
Immediatly ran (2) 12.0's at 112MPH with 1.6 60's both times.
It pulled like a raped ape the whole way through, time after time.
I let a friend Vinnie take a run with it, he ran a nice mellow 12, without killing it. I got bold on my last run and put the Upper on too
Thats the only run I used 6lbs for. Unfortunatly I had a bad burnout, and a worse Launch, the only launch of the day it started hopping, I immediatly got off it and then back into it. For some reason I didn't like the feeling and got back off it and decided to simply coast the rest of the way, foot off the gas. Don't you know the SOB ran a 12.2 anyway. You have no idea how long my foot was off the gas.
That was clearly my 11 sec run and I got out of it. I though the dam drive shaft was coming out or I lost a Supercharger Belt. Turned out to be fine afterwards, but I lost the faith for a second and got out of it. I'm extremly happy with the results and I took the upper off and it will stay off. I'll add 10 more Nitrous HP and get my 11 next time out with the 4lbr on the gas program I guess.
Turned out the Nitrous probabaly just needed to be purged (I dont have a purge and just put the bottle in) So I dont know how it runs off juice or with the juice program. But it took 8/10's off my former best of 12.8
The Zex System is in full control of itself, once you hit a switch and arm it, it then will only spray when it's at WOT and that is done by a wire running to our TPS, another words it reads the voltage of the Throttle Position Sensor and turns it self on only at WOT, you have no control over it once armed, and it works flawlessly

Thanks Rob. I just down loaded your video. Looked cool you and gator going at it. I would say that with a 75hp shot you should be in the high 11.90's for sure. I was really hoping that you would have been posting that 11 sec timeslip Saturday but I guess that will have to wait unitl next time. So when do you plan to get to the track again?

The good thing is my home track is less than 1/2 an hour away.

I know I could have gotten my 11 using the skinnies Gator offered me to use, and or, a little weight reduction, I have plenty to unload. But it was ran 5 times Saturday and that is 3 or 4 more than I usually run, I like to make only 1 or 2 passes if they're consistant.

(1) 12.05 and (1) 12.07 so what are we talking about here

Rob, That is why I am such a big fan of nitrous on a Gen 2. For $800.00 you can get a complete nitrous kit which will allow you to run high 11's on a stock motor safely. It just seems a whole lot better than purchasing a new blower and only being able to run 12-13#'s of boost on the stock block and having to spend over 3 grand. Plus the nitrous is only putting the additonal strain on the engine while you are running the juice unlike the new blower would. Granted if I ever decide to upgrade to a built short block then a new blower may be worth while but until my stock motor gives way I am staying with the spray!!!!

me with plenty of time before Cecil.
But I found out exactly what you just said,
"I could only add 50-75 HP SAFELY"
So for well under a grand, you can get the same, and only stress the motor when needed.
I can't put down the power I have now on the street WITHOUT JUICE.
Plus I already have a Supercharger and a new motor
Lets face it, I have no plans on putting a cage in the car,
so why go much further than where I am now.
It's time for a hood, grill, maybe exhuast

Thank you guys for your help and coments. I was looking for some one who runs Nos dry and wanted some info on that. By the way Rob i love your nitrous set up but dont have the cash right now to in vest in another kit.
I got my motor back today and hope to have it in this weekend.

Nitrous Questions Need Help Please
The only problem I have had is NOT using it on the street!
I have a NX wet system.
I bought it w/acc kit & a new chip from PSP.
I installed it myself. (it took some time)
Like ROB I found that the upper 2# pulley with nitrous made
a big difference. I also have a 4# lower. I found out also that
unless I purge first, I cannot feel the nitrous hit.
