Is there a non-restrictive inlet air system that doesn't increase blower noise?

Is there a non-restrictive inlet air system that doesn't increase blower noise?

I have a 6# lower, 4-way PSP chip, plugs, and Swanson air inlet system on my 03. I really like the performance but do not like the added blower noise under full throttle. I know, I'm getting old! I'm guessing part of the increase is from the lower pulley, but I still think the main source of extra whine is from the air filter. I searched every Lightning tuner website I know of and they're all open like the Swanson other that JL's, although it's open at the top and would probably sound the same.

I'm thinking that an enclosed system like the stock one with a better filter and cold air inlet would be the ticket for less noise, but I haven't seen any designed that way. Any ideas?

The only one I have seen that is really enclosed would be the Volant system I think. Cone filter inside a box that looks like the stock airbox in most respects.

Well, yeah I do to a point, but I'm scaring people off the friggin' road! LOL!!!!!!!! I mean you go to pass someone at full throttle and they're breaking their neck trying to see what the heck is coming around them!

Anyone know if the above unit will really cost me a bunch of power? Is it the open filter causing the increased noise?

If your Lightning turns out anything like some of your project cars, it's going to be one bad sub 10 second street machine! Install a KB, it's a little quieter.

Thanks guys, I love modifying cars, old or new. A sickness I guess!!!!!! I actually sold the yellow car recently and am doing a twin turbo EFI small block, 335/30-18's, 6 speed pro tour type car right now.

This Lightning is a lot of fun to drive. I actually sold another of the Camaro's I was using as a daily driver when I ordered this truck; I KNEW I'd never drive it once this Lightning got here!
