Nice experience with Bassani Support

Just a couple weeks ago I bought a set of used Bassani shorty headers from one of the users here. Great deal on them. But all I got was the headers themselves. I figured that is all I needed, and reuse the gaskets and bolts, etc. from stock. Upon getting frustrated when attempting to install the Bassanis, I emailed their tech support. Their tech Sheldon wrote back promptly the next day via email with full instructions for installation attached. Also recommended I should buy their gaskets as well. I called him up today because after reading the instructions I noticed that the kit should have had headers, gaskets, all sorts of bolts, heat sheilds. I want to do the job right. So when I called, he already anticipated my question and had a price quote ready for me on all the parts except the headers ready to go. Totally easy, paid the man and stuff will be shipped tomorrow. I don't impress easy, but I gotta give 'em props for being so nice... seeing as how I didn't even buy the headers new they put together a package for me at a very reasonable price, will get me on the road sooner and keep my stress level low. So in the future I will be much more inclined to give them my business.

By the way, if any of you want these instructions please email me and I will send the document to you. There is alot more involved then the steps listed in that website you all pointed out to me! I will post them here as well in another thread.

jeffsavage,

Hey Jeff, would you please post how you like them? I bought mine new but wont beable to hear them for about a week or so. I hear a lot of noise about shorty's but I went with them any ways. I didn't have an extra 1700. to spend on the hole system. I just spent 8K on my motor up grade.

Peace, Suavy

Jeff you are about the first one I have ever heard that had a good experience with Bassani's customer service.

I am about ready to sue them, over a cat back system I sent back, and 3 years later still haven't got my money back. I have the UPS tracking info showing they signed for them, but they still won't give me my $$ back.

I am very happy they treated you right.
Congratts.

Put it to them Don!!! And this is the first compliment that I have ever read about Bassani's customer support. I think they have screwed about every other L owner on this board with their falling apart cats!!!

I bought my used 99 with a full Bassani from shorties to the tips. The cats went bad and Bassani sent me a replacement pipe free of charge. They even sent UPS to pickup the old pipe. That has been my only experience with their support.

I had my cats go bad and I called them about it. They sent out replacement cats and pipes within a week. Didn't even have to send the old ones back.

Went through two sets of cats . Replaced free and promptly. They paid freight. I thought they were great.

Back during my mustang days, i had a bassani catted X pipe. Within 5 months, one of the cats went bad and had a nasty rattle. I drove down to them and they gave me the finger, saying my car was lowered and thats what caused it. Funny thing was, thee cobra was NOT lowered and still had its 4X4 look. I wrote a letter to their General Manager and got the pipe replaced. Seems they have improved on their customer service but in the earlier years, Bassani was down rigth nasty to customers.

Well, maybe they have seen the light, as far as customer service is concerned. That terrible track record that Bassani has was always in the back of my mind when I bought the cat-back system. But the sound of the system made me forget their issues.
Now reading that they have "improved" in that area, I can sleep soundly at night
