1st trip to Dyno #'s----
1st trip to Dyno #'s----
Had the oppurtunity to meet up with some nice Lightning and Cobra owners from the Pittsburgh area yesterday morning in Butler Pa. at Auto service and Performance.
I didn't arrive until about 1/2 hour before my Dyno time, so the truck was still a little warm from the 1 1/2 hour drive, but I am pretty happy with the following numbers.
1st pull: 628 ft. lbs
495 hp
2nd pull: 602 ft lbs.
490 hp
Air/fuel 12.2
I am loosing some torque on the top end that could be remedied with a set of long tubes, but all in all I am really happy with the results. Good enough for the street driving I do.

very nice marc, what did u run last week, i thought you posted 12.5's or 12.4's, that must have been on street tires, that is enough power you should be in the 11's for sure
my big butt ran 12.3's without nitrouse with 405/508, that was on slicks though,
the 50's put me in the 11.9's, would have been 8's to 7's if i hadn't hurt something that last trip last year, put some stickies on and tear it up!

Very good numbers Marc. I'll take your 1.83 60' any day. The best I could do on Saturday was the 1.96 that you saw. My mph was down too - as compared to the previous truck... 104.5 vs 105.7. Maybe it had something to do with our 10+mph headwind? In looking at my times, mine was also loosing on the top end... are long tubes the only answer to that?
That head wind was really around 20 mph according to the radio report. With gusts up to 30 mph.
Thanks. I really was surprised on the torque I was making.
How many more runs did you make after I left? Could you believe the the other truck there installed the chip and filter and did NOT improve any? Absolutely unbelieveable. I really feel sorry for him as I have known him several years now. I think I am going to call him and talk to him, maybe even get him to call Mike and see if he can help.

marc, were you trying out the nitto's again? or f1's, or slicks?
with the nitto's, at a decent track, i was consistent 1.74's on the nitto's,
with your extra power, you might blow them off, i never tried them with the 50 shot,
put them puppies at about 24 psi and give them a nasty burnout, they love heat!

Those are uncorrected numbers, aren't they? To compare(although, it's not perfect), can you show the SAE-corrected numbers? If they are corrected-goodgawda/mighty

Not sure how to do that Dan. I am sending them to my tuner this morning and will get back to you.
Beefcake, I tried the Nittos again and it was terrible. I heated the ***** out of them and still spun them to almost 1/2 track. 93cobra witnessed this and can confirm it.Sure was fun fighing the wheel.
Ended up running the Hoosiers, but the track was unpreped and got oiled down once.
I think the best 60 ft.I managed even with the Hooiser was 1.78.

Congrats on the excellent numbers
I am also glad to see yet another L running a 12.x:1 A/F ratio. When I posted my dyno #s last week I was scrutinized for running a "very lean" 12-12.5:1. However I feel this is safe, especially with factory timing.

Marc: Call your dyno operator and ask him to get his computer to do the factoring/correcting to SAE. he should be able to tell you in a matter of seconds if his system is up and running.

LIGHTNINROD-------
I just got off the phone with the technician (Ed) who performed the Dyno's on my truck yesterday, and he said that all pertinent information was fed into the computer before we started and the the numbers are indeed SAE-corrected.
I just wanted to be sure before I attempted to answer you.

My mods---
Include a very nicely programmed Mike T. single program Superchip, Metco 6# lower pulley, Air Force 1 intake kit,
Accu-Fab S/B throttle body, Diablo line-mod valve, and for
traction I run the Metco upper drag links, and the Quik-Truk
pinion snubber.
Almost forgot, I run NGK-TR6's for plugs.
