How important is CAI with chip and pulley?

Is a CAI like JLP or PSP absolutely necessary if you have a chip and pulley, lets say 4#'er? Will I get the full potential form the chip and pulley without the intake? If not how much will I be missing?

Not necessary at all. But it will help.

Its not toally necessary, but it should be done. When pulling more air through your intake (more boost), you want the air to be more flowing. With an open filter, this should be accomplished.

Could I hurt anything by not having more free flowing air? I do plan on doing this mod but right now it's a $$$ factor.

Not at all. You won't hurt a single thing. Do a search on what people have done to stock box's, for better air flow. Gains can be had from the stock box, for fairly cheap.

Dude,

Shoot me an e-mail at dandkmcguire@***.net and I can hook you up with some dyno results for the CAI...suffice it to say that it's not a necessity (just tested another one yesterday with an additional 5 1/2 pounds of boost and it gave me nothing compared to the stock airbox with a K&N and four 2" holes).

Alright, well thanks guys. Looks like I'll hold off for now. looks like it will hurt more not having the money then not having the CAI.
