My results with a 3" shackle kit
My results with a 3" shackle kit
I installed a 3" shackle kit from JLP a couple of days ago on my 03 Lightning. I dropped exactly 2". I waited a couple of days to post to see if it would change at all. So at this point the 3" shackle is worth 2" on an 03. It did make the truck almost level, maybe 1/2-3/4" higher in the rear.

I agree, I wasn't complaining. I've just seen several posts asking how much they would give on an 03 so I posted my results. Like you said, since it only affects one end of the spring it will not drop the truck 3" just because the end is extended that much further upward.

I've been wondering: Are 3" shackles named that because they are 3" longer than stock? AND- when installed, only ONE end of the spring is located 3" higher than it was--so you don't really get a 3" overall drop???

I don't get it. How could a truck "settle" a few days after shackles have been installed? It's steel; it won't stretch anymore. However, I can certainly see how drop springs would settle.
