Not sure who's chip you have but I'm just curious if this was on the track and if you were running race gas or on 93 pump? Like I said just curious...

When you think about it, the intake on your L is dry and never meant to have liquid going thru it. The nitrous could puddle and give you un-even distribution. Just my .02.

Chim, you're a stand-up guy who takes resposibillity for your actions instead of whinning that it's Fords fault. Sorry about your bottom end but now you get a better one.

Ugh, i beg to differ. There is no way you will get puddle with a wetshot setup since it vaporizes before ever reaching thr rotors of the blower. I argue this point with people who feel water injection does the same thing, which it does not puddle.

Mod motors need wet shots, period.

It's atomized not vaporizes and it can fall out of suspension and back to liquid.
Water evaporates and in doing so cools. But what ever you say.

A 6# lower with a 125hp shot!!! Please tell me you really didn't think that the factory rods would be able to handle that kind of hp. While it was running what kind of times were you running? How long were you able to run than combo before it blew?

Yup..this is true. Most people prefer wet systems.

Sal, Johnny and Jim all have different options as far as engines.

I know Jim is using a new, quieter piston as an option now. Don has them in his truck and it is much quieter than the first motor he had. Either way you go....you will be in good hands. Sal might be the best bet cause you can pick it up and save the freight. Good luck.

He told you who's chip he has right in this post. Its some of Johnny's best work, Chim trailer'd his L to Johnny and had it tuned correctly. Check his previous posts he talked about the trip.
His L runs Awesome, it whopped my *** one night on the streets, you all rememebr that post, I dam near killed him that night when mine wen't sideways "at a fairly high speed" and almost took both of us out. Because of that race I spend another 1-2k in Mods

The SOB drives around with slicks on looking for poor slobs like me running F-1's "so he can embarrass me in public"

Bottom line He admitts he pushed the Boost and Juice beyond it's limit and it blew, it has nothing to do with nothing except that. The Truck is trick looking, has tons of great Mods, and now is gonna be even bigger and better.
I know the same can happen to me, if it does, I do a Short Block and I'm back together for a fair price and ready for 125HP of juice and at least 6- 8 lbs of extra Pulley.
Then I'll mount my Hoosiers and go hunting for my Brother

Just trying to get you to laugh Chim, I feel for you Bro

Good point considering the Lightning has the same rod as any production 5.4.

The factory then adds 100+ hp and then people boost that again by 100+ = stronger rods than i though

Guess whos back, back again.First lets just say the chip had nothing to do with it.It was one of johnnys, his flip one.Let me also say it was tuned for a 75 shot and i was warned not to push more.6lb and 125 dry=boom.Iwas running race gas.I did manage a 12.1 1/4. It wouldve been a mid 11 but twice i had a fuel loss off the line.Only had a 1/4 tank of gas.Came off the line like a madman then surged when the fuel got pushed to the back of the tank and then it came back again to run my 12.1s. I blew the motor on the street racing a brandnew carrera turbo. The reason for the dry shot was at the time it was afordable, plus ive heard stories of people having backfires from wet shots and blowing off the charger.Anyway i talked to johnny today.3800 for the short block.also called jdm 4600 for the short block.Does jdms come with a hot blonde and a ******* or are you just gettin blown.Same built block different price?Goin with johnny.Probably also going with the heads and cams.Total somewhere around 6000.Just sold one of my bikes to help pay for all this.Hey Rob,how ya been?Ill be lookin for ya soon Nice list of new mods. You the man!Let me know how you make out in cecil.Kick ***!!Just try to stay in your lane Fastdailydriver-Good to hear from you too.Nice to see another lightning at the track. Those were 26 by 11.5 et streets on 16s.They really hook nice and i think the smaller diameter gives you a little more gear.Try em.I got a 1.65 60ft with em at 15lb of air.Smoke em for a couple sec.Well again thanx everyone for the support. Its much apreciated.I dont post to much but when i do your responces are always great .Nobodys fault but my own.Ill just come back bigger and badder.
