Shows ya how desperate I can get, Doug! LOL Even
though some people say you can run leaded race gas
occasionally, I am under the impression that even a whiff
of lead will coat and destroy your cats. You know anything
about that?

My current "rocket fuel" is adding Toluene at $4.80 a gallon
to the 5 gallons of gas I have left when I arrive at the track.

Using equal amounts and 93 Octane yields 103.5 Octane
Rocket Fuel ...

[(x * 93) + (y * 114)] / (x + y) = z

I am a believer that the cats get damaged from even a little lead.

Surely you can get a barrel and split it with someone. The dyno up the road sells the same gas out of 55 gal barrels for $5 a gallon. And he is making some serious $$.

The hazmat and the shipping are gonna be over 1/2 the cost when buying it 5 gal at a time....

Wonder if the neighborhood association would biyatch if
I put two 55 gal drums in the back yard? LOL Have you
used Toluene before Doug? It seems to make the truck
run really well.

PS ... that guys down in Houston ... a smart Texas boy knows
how to clean those dumb Yankees outta a buck!!!

I use Toluene at every fill up. I need to start buying it in 55 gallon drums, getting kinda expensive by the gallon. It does keep the detonation at bay and also seems to idle and run smoother. I also mix in a little marvel mystery oil just to be safe.

I ran across race fuel by accident last week.

I went to go check out this new Car Wash that just opened up.

They have a row of gas pumps as you enter. I pull up and i looked at the first pump and low and behold...

VP Race Fuel & Unocal 76 Race Fuel..

110 and 100 Octane flavors. Woot Woot! This place is literally 5 mins from my house and its pretty damn affordable too.

I would not spend $10 a gallon on race fuel. Most local tracks sell it anyhow and for a lot less. You can also contact VP Fuels and get a 5 Gal can delivered for like $32.

I also buy Tolune for $2/gal at this Sherman Williams paint store.

I'm another Torco Unleaded Accelerator user:

http://www.torcoracefuels.com/ACCEL%201.htm

Btw, (I"m not recommending this) I 'had' to use about 2.5 gals of leaded race gas at my track one night. The unleaded pump was broken. I had about 4-5 gals of 93 Amoco in the tank at the time. I thought that I had fornicated-up but I've had no SES lights or any eng. problems. Do not try this if you are not a profressional!

I buy my drums of Sunoco GT plus 104 unleaded for around $4 gallon in Hopkinsville, KY. I just bought a drum of VP C16 for around $8 gallon delivered.

Gut the cats and just replace the O2 sensors when they go bad.
