I got two tickets last week.

So I was going down to Jersey last week to bring my truck to JDM. I am cruising around 80MPH when I come over a hill and there is a cop sitting on the side of the road. It was a statey and the last day of the month so I knew I was getting a ticket. I thought the speed limit was 65, turns out it was 45. I have no problem with that ticket because I was def. speeding. Put he also gives me a ticket for restricted vehicle on the parkway(NY). He claims no pick-up over 5,000LBS without a cap is not aloud on the parkway. I tell him my truck only weighs 4700LBS. He goes on and on how no fullsize Ford weighs under 5,000LBS. That really pisses me off. I can't fight it because I can't take anymore time off from work either. I wonder how much this is all gonna cost me>??? -Mat-

Get a lawyer.

Whenever I get a speeding ticket it cost me $200 for my lawyer to go to court, and he has gotten me out of all three tickets that I have used him on.

I would definitely fight that 2nd ticket. Our trucks do NOT weigh 5000 lbs. unless you've got something in the bed and I would make him realize this before he goes around pulling all F150s over on that road....

Thumbs down

Its very hard to complain about the police, because ya never know when your gonna really need one for something important but what a dipstick!!!! even reg. cab long box pickups are under 5000#s (4x2's ) Thats to bad he had to put a little extra "frosting" on the citation,,

I could accept the first ticket, because I was guilty

BUT

No Friggin way on the second
I'd fight that one tooth and nail, and maybe the judge would figure if the second ticket was bogus......maybe the first one is too

Believe meif I could take the time from work to fight it I would. My boss(and father) was extremely pissed off at me for taking my truck to Jersey in the first place so I don't think he would be happy if I wanted another day off. Oh well. Sometimes ya just gotta bite the bullet. -Mat-

lawyer

Just pay the lawyer. Mine gets me out of everything and I don't even have to show up.

Ya fight the 2nd one.

Once you prove the truck weighs under 5000 lbs 4670 according to ford, you may have a chance to fight the speeding part too.

You don't have to go to court>??? Damn I wish I had known that I signed both the tickets guilty. On the second one I left an "explanation" saying: My truck weighs 4700LBS and if I could get the time off from work I would be fighting this. Oh well. Maybe they will drop it>??? Who knows. -Mat-

Cap manufacturers must have a powerful lobby in NY.
They don't want anything over 5K on their road but,
...if you buy a cap.....
