Crower/JDM cams rock
Man O Man, if you want to have a lopy idle you better get a pair of those Crower cams from Jim. I just got my truck back from Jersey yesterday and I am very pleased with the sound now. Of course this was the first time in 17 months to drive my truck.
Anyways back to these cams.....They are bad a$$. It sounds like the dang thing is nearly missing at first. The idle in nuetral is about 750rpms. In drive it will drop to about 600 and that is when you feel the truck shake.
According to the stock boost guage
I can pull vacuum up to around 75 or so. Of course I am running 3.55's. Will have to confirm this this next weekend when I get my Autometer gauge in and take a trip to RUSLOW's.
Oh and Jim's longtube headers and Silver bullet with dual mufflers are louder than a mother.
I can't hardly hear myself think. It sounds like I am running straight pipes even though there are two hi-flow cats underneath. Boy I am thinking about putting in a fuel cell, so I can run a couple of tips out the driver's side too.
And even though it is hard to hear over the exhaust, you can't cover up the famous screaming sound of the Eaton blower with the help of my JLP 10# lower. Boy do I need a Metco idler pulley to get rid of that belt slip.
Well, I thought that some of you may wanted to know what the cams were like from an owner's point of view.
Later,
Justin

You are right the new Crower cams are bad a$$ed, I love mine too. You should see how they sound with a KB sitting on top, hehe

Thanks Don, as soon as I can get my shift point issues resolved I will be ready for some running.
That is not funny that you have a Kenne Bell and I don't.
I wish I had one. Maybe I can get some money rounded up one of these years and buy one. In the meantime, I am going to have some fun on my street tires, since I can even afford slicks right now. I want to try to have the quickest e.t. with F1's and full weight. That is the only goal I can afford to accomplish right now.

Don when will you be running your built engine with the new KB at New England dragway? Sounds awesome, can’t wait to see your truck run
Reading your posts makes me smile... "...I just installed my KB and all I can say is WOW. Broke the rear tires loose at a little over 100mph today, and that was with my street tune..." Hehe nothing like a pickup truck that will dust a ZO6 :-)Steve
QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS WITH CROWER CAMS
What Stage Crower cams are you using? I didn''t know if Jim is selling everyone the Stage 2's or is he selling the Stage 3 also?
I have the Stage 2's and they seem to even be on the border line of a streetable cam. I would hate to here what a Stage 3 cam design sounds like

Especially considering all the parts are basically made here
Stage 3 are mean as ***** guys and hearing them on Dante's truck brings fear to a lot of people.
BTW Dante, i need to call you tomorrow morning regarding a diablo thing we need to decide on. Later
Man, I think these Stage 2 cams are on the borderline of even being streetable. I wouldn't mind giving up the Stage 3's for Stage 2's. These 2's are fairly lopy. Yes, I would love to here the 3's, but I don't see how they would call them a street/strip cam if the 2's I have are hard to keep vacuum.
