Installed long tubes + hi flow cats - lost tq...do I need a chip reburn?

Same shop, same dyno.

Previous baseline : 383hp / 479tq

Which included...

Bassani
4 lb pulley
chip
cold air intake
breather cap
----------------------

Installed long tubes + hi flow cats = 388hp / 473tq

Picked up 5hp peak, lost 6tq peak

Only other difference is weather (warmer now by about 30 degrees).

Is this pretty much to be expected or do I need to reburn the chip now that I've added long tubs and hi flow cats?

In any event, I didn't really expect gains but wanted that sound and man did I ever get it! Sounds GREAT now...pissed off and mean. Best sounding combo I've ever heard if I do say so myself.

Were those numbers uncorrected or corrected? You should be comparing corrected (STD or SAE) numbers instead of "actual" numbers. Look at this thread for my results. I had gained a little more HP and over 20 ft# of tqu. You shouldn't need a reburn to compensate for headers.

Yup, those are corrected numbers. The guy running the dyno says that everyone complains that his dyno reads low so I'm unsure of how they would compare on another dyno...

Cool - glad to hear that there is no need for a reburn after headers and cats.

Man this truck sounds good! A bit of rasp around 2.5K under light throttle but not too bad.

Biggest change is the lack of backpressure now - left off the gas and you just coast! Changes your braking points a tad and you lose some of the burble but it just means that ya gotta creep up in the revs a bit more.
