Thumbs up Superfords' truck helps sales

One of my co-workers was at Universal Ford in Richmond, Va yesterday looking at a Mustang they had. He said while he was talking to the salesman a blue Lightning came flying by with a sweet sounding exhaust. Then the Lightning took off up the street really quick. The salesman told my co-worker that the Lightning was owned by one of the mechanics. My co-worker said that it definitely must help Lightning sales with a Bad @ss Lightning rolling around the dealership like that.

I told him this morning, that was Superfords!

PS - Chris,
My co-worker is looking at the 2002 DSG GT Mustang that you have on your lot. He said it has 13K miles and is a 5 speed.
Do you know anything about this stang? History, etc?

Thanks,
Eric

Hey I should see if any dealerships around here are willing to pay me to tear up and down their roads to attract some attention to their SVT/performance vehicles!

My co-worker seemed really impressed. I told him he should think about an L. But he had a GT stang when he was young in the 60's and now he wants to re-live his youth!

haha, I always tear out of the dealership, especially when I see somebody looking at a cobra or stang or lightning out front I figure they'll get a kick out of it.

on the downside my "enthusiastic driving" got me pulled over in front of willow lawn mall last night luckily the cop was cool and let me slide (once again). I better slow down, my luck with the police has got to be running out soon.

I guess i'm safe for a few days though, I dropped the truck off to have my 3M stoneguard film re-applied today (I wasn't happy with the first install) and I'll be having the windshield replaced on monday (it cracked last week!).

so I'm stuck driving around in a lowly loaner car... I guess it's not your average loaner though, a Supercharged '99 Saleen S351 with 500 or so HP!

look out richmond

later,
chris

Speaking of you tearing out of places in your truck, I saw and heared you swiftly accelerating out of the intersection in front of Victory Nissan last night. I was walking into CVS when I suddenly heared the sweet sounds of an Eaton blower singing down the street. Your truck looks and sounds awesome!!!

Question

Chris,
Do you know anything about that Mustang I mentioned at the top of this thread?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
I'm not familiar with that particular car. If your buddy is serious about it, one of you can contact me and let me know which salesman you are dealing with and I'll get the VIN and check the repair/maintenance history if it has been done here.

also it might not be a bad idea to have him bring it to me before he buys it and let me check it out and make sure it looks ok and doesn't have any frame damage or anything like that. He can either see Travis my service writer (blue team) and pay for an inspection (its generally $75 bucks, not cheap, but not that bad when compared to the purchase price of a vehicle) , or he might be able to negotiate it with the sales department as a conditional part of the deal before he buys it.

of course being only 1 year old and low miles, it's probably fine, but it never hurts to be careful.

let me know.

later,
chris

Thanks Chris. I'll pass the info on to him. He said that the car was originally purchased from Universal and it was recently traded in on a Cobra. He said it looked like it was in excellent condition.

Thanks again,

Eric
