I remember awhile ago when the gen2 L's came out...someone said that a guy that owned a speed shop got ahold of a few number of them...like 8... did some work to them..around 400-450hp worth to the wheel...signed them and sold them. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about? This is what i was told awhile back. Think the shop was in northern Arkansas. It was from a credible source.

Sorry this post is so vague. it's been bugging me wondering about this. hoping someone will fill in the ol'gap.

 

When the Gen 2s first came out few were in that hp range, at least according to ETs and trap speeds.

But then again I'm only basing this on the Lightning forums. There are people out there who could give a rat's a$$ about these boards that could be running way faster than the top dawg here....

That is FALSE.We Didnt even start hearing about SOLID 12 second trucks till 00 racing season.I have been here since the beggining and i remember when low 13s with a chip/filter and a GREAT tune were GREAT timesback when Mike troyer was the ONLY real tuner around here............450HP would be a 11 second truck and would not be possible without pullys or NOS which didnt come out till mid 00 season 2lbers even!!!!!(pullys)

 

There might've been *some* Gen 2s in the 11s back then but I can assure you none did it using "conventional" methods that we use!

Someone *could* have had a built shortblock with custom machined parts, and a custom nitrous kit spraying a BIG shot I suppose...

But not 8 from one place....
