Truck with no cat back????

Can you take the stock muffler adn tips off and run the truck. I am waiting on a catback but want to take the stocker off a few days in advance. Is it ok to run the truck like that or will the back pressure throw off the truck. I am a rookie at this and want to know if i can run the truck if the exhaust if off about the muffler. Anyone do this??

Basically the same as running straight pipes and i don't see any reason why you can't....other then headaches.

I t will not hurt anything to run mufferless for a couple days, the back pressure loss could possibilly make your truck lose a little tourqe but you will gain a little hp in return.

Your biggest woories will be headaches, car alarms and tickets.

I didn't run my muffler for about a year or two. Its loud.

If you lose 5 lbs of torque down low rest assured, you'll make more than what you lose on the big end.
