Ooooh! That sucks. It reminds of a time several years ago. I had just purchased a set of Cragars and BF Goodrich Radial T/A's for my van. Well, somebody went to the local K Mart and purchased (or maybe they stole them
) new jackstands and stole my wheels and tires, using the new jackstands. That was over 20 years ago, and I still have the jackstands. Insurance replaced my wheels and tires.

You wouldnt believe what they would steal of the cars. This lot below even had security that patrolled the lots frequently during the night.
I worked at a dealer in Upstate Rochester NY and was in charge of the new and used car lots. I Signed in all the new vehicles when they came in and we removed the spares off all the trucks, vans and anything else that had drop down tires or easily removed spares. If you didnt they would be gone in a matter of days. We had to put wheel locks on every tire of every new car that came in.
It didnt stop them though as cars would still be on blocks or the ground after the weekend showing how easy the locks were to get off. Whole exhaust systems would be stolen from the manifolds back, antennas, emblems and centers would be stolen. We got to the point where cars couldnt be pre-prepped before they were sold or the parts would be missing.
Best theft job I saw while working there was a Camaro Iroc Z. Carrier decided to drop off about 5 cars sometime between Sat afternoon and Mon morn in the rear corner of the lot. When I got there Mon at about 6:00am the service mgr had already called the police. A very nice fully loaded, T-Topped Iroc was sitting on the ground in the corner. They had stolen the wheels/tires, T-Tops, Stereo, Louvers, Front seats and misc little items off it.
Came to find out that the field behind the lot was overgrown and about 1/2mile away from a old access road. From what they could tell they would come in from the field, strip the cars and then go back in the field at the first sign of someone coming. Take a 1/2 mile walk and drive off with the parts. Town ordinance wouldnt let them put up a fence around the lot so its probably still going on today.
