I want a little more than the 2" drop, but not as much as the drop you get with the hangers

I just recently switched from 2" to 3" shackles, got another 1/2 to 3/4 inch drop. Unfortunately I didn't take measurements first. Here are some pics of the 3" drop........JR

I agree. I did measure mine before and after. It was a little over 1/2 inch lower than the 2 inchers. Once I drove it around it settled down a little more... about 3/4 inch lower than the 2 inch shackles. I have 1 inch Hotchkis front coils and it looks perfect.

Yes they are worth it IMO.

I think those 3in shackles are gonna be added to my list of lowering mod's. Right now I have Belltech Front Springs (#4804), and DJM Rear Shackles. Im adding Ground Force Hangers, and DJM Front Control Arms w/ Doestch shocks in all 4 corners. Im thinking that im gonna replace my DJM Shackles with the 3in Shackles, and it'll still be raked, but nice and slammed. Also gonna add a c-notch. Parts should be here soon... pics to come!

I have the 3" shackles on my 03 L and it just about levels out the truck with the stock front suspension. I did not measure the before and after height so I dont know how much it lowered it. I do have a question for other people who have the 3" shackles. When I received my order the invoice said 2" shackles. Can anyone measure their 3" shackles and post the measurements? Also can you describe your measurement method, for example, top shackle hole to bottom shackle hole. I am sure that the invoice description was wrong because the price was for the 3" shackles and the truck sits level.

You guys gotta realize that the 3" shackles on an '03, are going to have a different result than on previous years..........Due to the added payload, the '03 NEEDS 3" shackles to sit level, whereas in previous years, all that was needed was 2" shackles.

If you own a pre '02 or older L, and you go to 3" shackles, you're going to need 1" coil spring drops in the front in order to look "level". IMHO, that would be a nice combo, and give it a real aggresive stance.
