Thumbs up Wheeew!! Close call..

Well I saved myself 2000 plus dollars..I had my spark plugs changed and my buddy told me that #3 spark plug was on the brink of shooting out. All of the rest of them seemed to be fine.. Funny thing is my truck has been running fine, no skips or rough idle or anything.. That was scary ..Those spark plugs have been in my truck for at least 30K miles..

Wonder how long these new ones will last....

Also, have a question.. He told me that he uses Motorcraft copper plugs with his 4lb pulley.. Are copper motorcrafts ok to use with a 4lb pulley?

Does he mean "on the brink of shooting out" that it was just loose?

Yes..Only a couple of the few threads on the plug were still in the head...

I have no idea how I drove 45 minutes to his house w/out anything happening..

He was able to take the plug out by hand

Yea, you are lucky.

Do you think it's wise for us to check the plugs at certain intervals, to make sure they are tight?

I'm using my stock plugs with a 4lb and chip. no problems. safe a/f though. i drive pretty hard sometimes too. the only reason they are in there is because the dufus that had the truck before me must be a gurilla. my tuner couldn't break them lose!?

Definitely!!..I would have mines checked at least every 3 or 4 months..But nothings gauranteed...I think it could still happen at anytime...

Nice Save Rayden's Cloud

3 of my Factory plugs were loose when I first changed them. (5K+) Two were too loose for comfort, one was also hand loose as stated above.
