The Lightning might get another friend.

I dunno guys and gals. I am probably gonna be buying an 03 Cobra in the next day or two. Most likely a white hardtop. Reason being I am young and stupid.

So I have a question. How do all the people that have one like it>??? Does it compare to the Lightning at all>??? Thanks guys. -Mat-

Do it while your young! the only problem I can see is you will end up liking one vehicle more than the other and never drive one of them. and think of all the money you'll have to spend on modding that cobra...thats a sick combo though a Lightning and Cobra

Cool Lightning&03 Cobra

I had a 99&01 Lightning that were both modded and decided to purchase a 03 Cobra. What i miss most about my L is the inside cab room and the automatic for racing. What i like about the 03 Cobra better is the way the car responds to all mods much better than my L did and a built lower in motor that can take alot of punishment Ford SVT has given us 2 awesome vehicals for us to choose from or have both if you can swing it

I chose the L over the Cobra because of having a truck around for the occosianal home depot runs, it's much lower insurance costs, and it's easier for me to get in and out of. (had a bike wreck couple years ago)

I had a 2000 L and traded in on a 2003 Cobra vert. I also miss the spacious interior of the L and it's utility. I decided that i'd just buy a beater pickup for home depot runs (and then not worry about using it like a real truck). I didn't jump nearly as high on insurance as I thought I would. My premium only jumped up 30 dollars extra a month. I make at least that much back on the gas money I save.

Life is tough when you get up in the morning and don't know if you want to drive the Lightning or the Cobra...

At this point I'd do a fox body mustang before I touched any new Ford products.

Exactly!

I was just thinking that this morning. I just got my 2001 Lightning back from the shop after 6 days. I've heard about all the problems that 2003 Cobras are having. It sounds exactly like the 99-00 Lightnings.......who knows what some higher mileage will bring.

My wife will need a new car in about a year and she wanted something new. I was thinking 03 Cobra, until my senses came back to me. Why buy another expensive car and have the possiblility of it being a giant pile of excrement. I know people will cry foul, say the in-denial "all cars have problems, I love my SVT", and say that not all Lightnings and Cobras have problems. The truth is that they've had a TON of problems, some of which are serious, and Ford refuses to correctly repair them.

I really miss a slightly modified Fox-body or SN95 stang. I had zero problems with my 93 LX and almost none with my 95 Cobra. Those cars were built well. Somewhere between 95-2000 Ford lost it.

I'm thinking about talking her into letting me build a 90-93 GT for her. I'll have something mild for the motor, re-do the interior, and put some fresh paint on it. I figure I could have a low 13 second daily driver for less than $12K.

Ahhhh the good ole days. When Fords were good and spark plugs stayed put.

I am sorry some of you don't like what I am doing. But with that aside I am going to pick up the car in a few minutes. As long as everything goes good and I like it I will post some pics tonight. Wish me luck guys! -Mat-
