Can someone please tell me ... ?

This is probably not the correct forum for this, but I figured that some of you either own or have driven a Cobra. Please describe what it is like to drive a supercharged engine w/ a manual transmission. Does it have immediate throttle response (boost), like the L (automatic tranny), or is similar to turbo car ... e.g., boost kicks in slightly later (3000rpm or higher), for instance. Just wondering if it kicks you back in the seat immediately like the L ... THANKS!

It doesn't matter what kind of transmission you have. The torque is there immediately with a S/C.

If you run a Cent like i did on my Cobra, you dont have torque no where near what the L does.

My 98 had a Novi 2000 RR @ 20 psi. Although i could smoke the tires in 5th gear @ 70, the boost doesnt come on strong until damn near redline. totally different.

Had i done a turbo, this would be a moot point.

Turbos generate loads of torque. Get yourself a downpipe, dyno tune and see how far you you can up the boost with a modded wastegate.

Thanks for info ... a turbo car (evo) is new to me. If there is anything to miss on the L compared to the evo, its that immediate boost response (kick back in the seat), but the handling & cornering ability, as well as the tight susepnsion more than makes up for it. Hell no I'm not unhappy with the evo, just womdering what the cobra is like. It was out of price range, and the insurance was too high for me. My insurance actually went down a couple hundred a year going from an L to an evo because my insurance company considers it a 4-door sedan, and didn't even factor in the performance!!! If I could afford, I would have one of each -- Cobra/L/EVO!

4 W/ an 8K MARK-UP! WOW! I haggled down to $1500 over retail from $3500, and I thought that I might have paid too much! But it was the only black one with a sunroof in the area, besides one about 55 miles away and they wouldn't drop below a $3700 mark-up. However, Gettle Mitsu in Sarasota has claimed that they will sell very close to retail (probably $500-$1500 over at most) so if anyone is interested send them to me! They have a white and red one right now, and should have a black one in a month or so. It's too bad they didn't have my color.
