Question question on chip programming with valve body

When you tell your tuner that you have a valve body for firmer shifts, do they leave the settings for the line pressure stock and let the valve body handle the firmer shift?

Reason I am asking is because I want to get the chip reprogrammed for a 6# pulley and will later add the FT valve body but I don't want to have to send it back again to get reprogrammed once I do install it.

Anyone have the lowdown?

Thanks

You do not have to get the chip reprogramed for the Factory Tech Valve Body. If you did it would shift to hard.

No, you need to make sure your chip is set back to factory specs. Most chips raise the line pressure.

so if I tell them I have the valve body and leave the tranny stock, it will shift like it's stock? The chip will still get rid of the fart between shifts correct?

Thanks

If the chip doesn't have the line pressures raised then it will shift exactly like it does now except the shift points may change.
