20s On, Thoughts/Feeling & Kumho Tire Test.

well, i installed the 20's, i would post pics but for some reason, i cant upload pics right now into my gallery..... so anyways here are my Pro's & Cons so far of the wheels.

Pros:
1. They look sweet as hell, make the truck look awesome, and everyone on the street turns there head twice!

Cons:
1. Make the truck weigh more, you cant really tell that the truck is slower until you hit the Freeway, boy you can really tell that the truck is having to push alittle harder to get up to speed, (no more barely pressing in the pedal to merge on, now you gotta put her down alittle)
2. Hard to keep clean.

so i think the pro still out ways the cons... they are sweet!

*now my breakdown of the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 295/40/20

These tires are one of the cheapest you can buy in 20 inch, tire rack has them for $211 a tire.

I must say the way these tires perform you would think they cost over $300 a tire. There dry traction is alittle better than the F1's, there Wet traction is way better than the F1's, i drove today in the rain and it was just as good as dry. i took off hard to test it out of the hole and i only spun a little bit and hooked right up. The ride quality is great, alot of people said it would be alittle rougher ride with the smaller sidewall, but i like the ride better than the F1's, and they have less road noise too.

so my ratings for the Kumho's, I'll compare them to F1's since everybody here has had experience w/ them.

Dry Traction: Kumho - 9, F1 - 8
Wet Traction: Kumho - 9, F1 - 8
Road Noise: Kumho - 9, F1 - 7
Ride Quality: Kumho - 8, F1 - 6.5

i just got them so i dont know about the thread wear but i hear that they are pretty good, a little better than the dunlops, so i do reccomend these tires for the great Price.

Do they ride any rougher than the stock 18's?

Thanks,
Edward

i dont think so, the way i see it, is sure it's a smaller sidewall but the tire is alot better so it evens itself out. As long as you get your truck Aligned real good after the install it should ride like a dream.

AWESOME!!!

I was looking at the kuhmo's for my next set of 20's since they look tight and they are cheap too. I have them on the front for my front runners and they are good tires, but I had concerns until you posted this! thanks for the write up brother, I know what I'll be getting after my SP9000's are all gone in the next few months.

Lightbulb 295/40's VS 295/45's

The difference in side wall hieght between a 295-45-18 and a 295-40-20 is only about a 1/2 inch. This won't adversely affect ride quality. I run 275-45-20 and never notice
a different in ride.
