Angry Metco Lowers with Belltech 3/4 HAving trouble

Metco came out with new brakets for the guys with Belltech 3/4 kits. Man what a PITA. I can't get the brakets on for the life of me. For some reason I cannnot get the Nut for the Spring Eye bolt on. The Track link braket blocks access to get a wrench on it. I see the only other way to do this is to take the bed off. I don't have any help to do this, nor have I ever done it. Has anyone else had this problem.

Have you called http://www.metco-inc.com/ and talked to Aaron or his dad?

tight

Yup, it's a PITA.

Get something up there to jam the nut and just take the impact wrench to it.

Yes I think Rob was the R&D guy. Have to ask him. Anyways after I typed this, I went out and sat under the truck thinking away. I put the bracket back up there and then it dawned on me. I could get a open end wrench up from the bottom by turning it sideways a bit and then slide it on up. DOH!!!

Maybe I should have sat under there a little longer the 1st time.

DL,

Do you work for Metco? It seems weird that you're telling, not asking, QKSILVR to make a new, more positive, post about this Metco product. You even go so far as to provide appropriate verbiage. He hasn't even take the truck for a test drive. How can he say it works great? Does anyone else find this odd?

Why post a new thread?? I am not done with it yet. Need to get the exhaust pipes off so I can drill the other hole. Some of you guys are ruff. As Edward said, I haven't driven it yet. Its' still in the garage on Jack stands.

Anyways, I don't discredit there products, I said I was a bonehead for not figuring it out. I do however think they need better instructions. Maybe I'll right some new ones and send it to them. Along with some pics.

Man it obvious that DL is in Metco's back pocket. He has even risked getting banned to spread their name here.He probably got a free pulley screw to save Metco the supporting vendor fee.

Nonsense. My Metco lower install was a nightmare start to finish. No way to sugar coat it--it was a plain nightmare. The instructions (no photos) are next to worthless. The front hangar bolts have the problem described above (not just limited to Belltech drops). The STOCK exhaust has to be cut, welded, and bent out of the way.

Now, the parts are very high quality and the folks at Metco give outstanding customer service (and I mean outstanding). But I give ease of installation about 2 out of 10 points.

No reason to gloss over the truth here. I have been called out for "slamming" vendors. Not so--I simply tell the truth without regard for whether the vendor is offended. Hell, I'd post if my mom sold me a poor-fitting part. That's the beauty of the Internet. Unless and until some vendor buys my silence, the truth shall be spoken.
