4# lower and 2# upper

i am looking to buy a 4# lower to go with my 2# upper. i have heard that i can do this combo without an aftermarket chip. what i've heard is that i only need the chip for the purpose of gaining the full horsepower that the set up is capable of, that u dont necessarily need it to be "safe." a well-known tuner here in houston told me i wouldnt HAVE to have a chip with this set up. what do yall think?

if your gonna do it, chip it. You might get away with not chipping it but if your putting the money into the pulleys a) why not reap the entire benefits of them and b) why not play it safe just to be sure you dont lean out and blow 33k+ worth of vehicle out the door. Not to mention shift improvement, and no top speed limiter (do non chipped L's come with that anyway? not sure) Whatever the case, dont skimp on something esp when it can save your truck and youll get a ton of reward for it. Kinda makes sense right?

Ya what grinomyte said

It would be like building the ultimate motor,
and then putting a single exhaust and 2 barrel carb on it.

All the good stuff is there,
but it's not being used "to it's potential"

I have a 5lb pulley and chip. I've driven around without the chip, and let me just say it is really dissapointing. The chip makes all the difference ... trust me on this.

the chip alone makes a huge difference with the truck.

If you're looking for a cheap chip, email me. duckag01@netscape.net

It's a Superchip (has an old JL program on it) 2-position that I'm willing to part with for cheap...like $100 cheap.

This is/was an old one from before he did Diablo.

I think it's for a 12" Powerstack and MAYBE something else, but I don't remember. It's from 2000.
