What price is good for this 99' lightning?

Well would is a good price for this truck? In the paper he has it for 21,500 -- I checked it out and he has new tires with 17k miles. The intercooler recall was performed on it -- no accidents or salvage --The truck is in pristine condition -- there were only a slight bit of marks on the rims...... i was just going to offer 21k since it is in such good condition.....

any thoughts?

DAMN!

I bought a '99 L Bone stock this winter with 4000 miles, Yes 4000 not 40,000. for $17k.

It lived in a garage its entire life.

Now it lives in mine (waiting for the salt to get off the roads )(Michgian)

That might be a good price out west. In the midwest I'd expect to pay 16-17K. You should be able to move up a few model years for that price.

Well thats a good price for that many miles. If its in good shape and the interior is clean and without any smells then its a good deal. The only thing I find odd is that it has brand new tires after only 17k miles....that means he beat the truck around for a while, burning out and stuff like that. Doesnt mean there is anything wrong with it though, just a word of caution.

There is a local guy who is selling his 99 with 18K miles. It has JDM long tubes and exhaust, built engine, very nice stereo system with custom box and console, belltech front springs, rear dearched leafs, bedrug, 4:10's, factory tech valve body, cobra water pump, 8lb lower, electric fan, snug lid, chip, 90mm mass air, etc. I think he wants $26K.
No, it isn't me, but I would buy his truck if I was in the market. Lots of mods and very cheap.

Konig,

I beg to differ with you on the tire analysis. On my 2001 I babied those F1s and I only got 15,000 miles out of them! Before that I had a 00 and I was a "little" more agressive with those tires and I got about 9000 out of them!

If it just got its first set of new tires at 17,000 I would say that is pretty darn good.

Most of you guys are in what I call "Lightning Owner Denial". You still own a L and thus think it should never lose value over time and every mod should return it's full purchase price when sold.

I wouldn't pay 26K for a 99 unless it had a VROD in the bed with it.

What is the market price for a 1999 Lightning in good condition with less than 20K miles?
How much are mods worth? It depends if you were going to buy them anyway. Someone like you might not want mods. Someone else may have budgeted to get a $17K truck and spend another $20K on it.

A buddy of mine has a black 2000 with 38k miles and he wants $20k. Nice virgin truck, no mods or accidents.

I have to disagree with you there..I got more than twice that mileage out of my F1's (33k), and I wouldn't say I babied them. I didn't beat on them as bad as some people on here, but the back end has (accidentaly of course) gotten squirrely on me one or two times.

From: Colorado,
That is the Kelly Blue book dealer Price and if it is that nice I would not pass it up.

Remember that they didn't make as many in the 99 and 00.
Less than 1,700 in Black.

Go for it
