$$$How much did U pay?

I'm looking at a '03 Lightning, and the dealer I went to has a no haggle policy. It's Mullinax Ford, for anyone here in Central Florida. Anyway, the price is $31,529 with the soft bed cover. Is this a good price? What is everyone seeing or paying out there?

that seems about right, if you get a-plan it should bust it down to like $29,000 or less....

From what I went through buying mine last week, that seems like a very fair price, and yer even getting the cover.

I had trouble even finding a dealer willing to sell one without an additional markup OVER msrp, and figured I was lucky to get in the truck for under $33000. (Nobody would take an X plan either...).

If you work for Sprint you probably get X-plan. A-plan is for Ford employees. X-plan is still a smoking deal.

Keith, truck looks good. Give me a shout when you want to go the pavillions. We're probably going out to Speedworld for Wednesday night drags on the 19th if you want to go.

NOt sure about the rest of the country but here in Texas 2003 Lightnings are on all the dealers lots it seems like. IF I were in the market, in this economy, I would NOT pay over 28500 k for a truck. You may have to buy from a dealer 1000 miles away but you can have the thing shipped for less than $1000.

The market is SOFT, war is on tbe horizon, there are trucks sitting on lots, its a GREAT time to DEAL HARD on a truck...

Bankston Ford In Frisco Texas has a used 2001 at least one New 2002 and a couple 2003s ( inventory is not accurate I just saw lots of trucks with diff wheels ) They also have like 5 Cobras. Tey are NOT known for good prices BUT I know they have them...

They have Blue 2003 with matching tonneau that is screaming someones name.

I definitely agree Doug. Some people are too lazy, have too much money or are too excited to search for the best deal. Haggle, haggle, then haggle some more. Buyer's market big time.

Miami/Florida is totally different. They are quite tough over there. A few dealers will bend as much as he indicated...Go to GA or something...May be able to get a better deal there!

Hey Guys,

As some of you may have heard I am in the market for a Gray 03 L. I just went to the dealership on Friday and they would not move on the sticker, and from the sound, this seems to be a going theme. I found a place to finace the 03 L and after I sell my car I am there. I just need to get about 3000.00, off the sticker here in Texas. If someone could help me out with an X-Plan Pin I would greatly appreciate it. Email me at chevyguy@mail.utexas.edu Please pardon the email address I am still trying to get the University to change it.

Thanks agian.

Same problem I had... I talked to every SVT dealer in the state, and no one was willing to move on the MSRP. Even showing up with the checkbook and pre-approved financing didnt seem to help.

Ok, update. Called them back with the X-Plan pin (not A-Plan, my bad), and bottom line price is $29,9XX with soft bed cover. No budging. He even said if I found it cheaper somewhere else, he wouldn't match it. I think I'm going to wait and find a nice used one. I'd like to get one for around 20k. Even a '99 would be ok as long as it's in great shape.

By the way, been watching/reading the forum for a long long time, just now registered and posting.

Doug,

I dunno about that one. Trying to get it for about $150 over a-plan price without any plans...I doubt any dealer would do that. With the a-plan, the dealers are reimbursed some amount from Ford, in order to encourage them to go for it. Your asking the dealer to basically give up all his profit.

Take the X plan.

Even if you have the PIN, I could not find any dealer within 150 miles that would take x plan. Coral Gables Ford is selling them as soon as they hit the lot for 41,500!!
