Lightbulb comments on tires

Any of you tried the nitto 404 285/50/18. Was wondering how the traction is compared to the goodyear f1. I have a few mods and was just wondering on how they rate as far as traction to the f1's.

285 - 50 is going to look goofy... too narrow, and too tall.

true info.
Decent tire, the 404 is. Great lifespan, not up to the task for the way most of us L guys drive. I have 295/40/20 GY HP ultra's (Z rated for speed), marketed as an economy high performance tire. The F1's are MUCH better in straight line performance (45 vs 40 series, minor advantage with slightly larger sidewall) But the ultra's have better lateral grip ,as you would expect with a lower profile tire. my buddy has 404's (305/50/20's) on his 02' screw. I'm not sure if it's the truck, or the tires, but it handles like *****.

how much are the proxes and what's their wear rating? hopefully the equivalent performance of the f1s (i'm very satisfied with them on a near-daily driven truck) with a higher wear rating and a reasonable price?

Which Toyo tire are you guys buying? I am gonna need a set soon and since this will be my third set, I'd like something that will still work and last a longer.

Next question is where to get them at the best price and what have people been paying for them?

I like the F1's but man... six months between tires changes is not enough!!!

Sure... I know what will fix that but I am not willing to do it.

Of course if gas gets to 2.50 a gallon... my tire problems will be fixed.
