Belltech 3/4 lowering guys, how did the ride quality change?

I have decided to go with their kit, but I do not want to screw up the ride of the truck. It is the best riding truck I have ever been in, I don't want to screw it up! I don't want to have it bouncing all over the road and bottoming out easily if at all possible. Please let me know your experiences with the lowering system.

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

It gets scary at speed their springs are soft and shocks are loose. I installed a kit and took it around the road course on site and it rode the bump stops in the turns. The owner also says it gets hairy over 100 on the highway. Those Nitro shocks or whatever, they are valved loose and do not control high force movements. You also have to cut the shixxle out of the stock bump stops unless Beltech started adding enw stop to their kits recently. Of course I road race these trucks so I demand a little more of the suspension. Those are just my observaions.

I had a BellTech 2/4 on my last truck with the nitro actives on it. It was a god improvement over stock in cornering and overal response. I have the Western Chasis 3/4 now with Doestch Tech race shocks on my lightning. It steers super sharp compared to stock, the steering is nice and tight feeling. The ride really sucks on the hwy compared to stock though. You definitly feel every bump in the road, especially in the passanger seat. The body lean is reduced dramatically as well with the drop, not to mention the visual effect it gives. The only thing I would recomend is doing some different leaf springs as part of your upgrade, the hotckins leafs are supposed to be pretty nice from what I have been told by a guy who locally who has them installed.

I just ordered the BellTech lowering kit for my L, and the Nitro Active shocks for the rear. Sounds like I should consider leaving the stock rear shocks on? Let me know...

not if you drop it more than 2 inches..then you have to change or it will ride rough

Got the 3/4 Belltech drop on two days ago. I don't know if they sent the wrong shackles or what but the rear is in the weeds. It bottoms out on everything. Will be putting in a different set of shackles today. I'll let you guys knoe how it rides. I will be also doing the airbox mod with a K&N and a Magnaflow catback today.

thats odd, I have plenty of clearance. Definitly not in "the weeds"... does it look even front to back? If not then youre kit might have come with a 5" shackle like mine did, just dont use the top hole in the shackles and it will be even looking and perfectly level
