Question Foglight bulbs:

Does anyone know if Sylvania silver stars make foglight bulbs for our trucks? I can never find them in the stores. I've been using the Xenon bulbs but they keep blowing out. I think this is happening because those bulbs are more wattage than the factory output so I don't want to fry my wiring harness.. I've read post where a lot of you are using the silverstars headlight bulbs but never seen anything about the fogs.. I like the blueish haze that my xenon headlight bulbs give off and they last a long time. I just don't want to use them with a standard dim looking foglight bulb b/c it looks kinda tacky.. Just want a bright white foglight bulb that doesn't require much wattage.. I think the xenons I was using required 90-100 watts and the out put of our system is like 60-65..
If anyone know of some can you also give me a link to the website?

Thanks!
Lay

Yes is your answer

the Sylvania's come in 9005 (I think thats the right number and if it isnt someone will correct me) for the foglights.. at least they do for L's. your number may be different since you have a 1999 and mine is 2002.
I have them in mine and love them.. they really light up the sides of the road too.. although mine are burned out because my foglights cracked and have water in them.. but went to the dealer and they have ordered the 2003 foglamps to replace mine and will be covered under warranty. they should be in soon, so Silverstars will be going back in and I will be using them all the time..

I used the 9005 sylvania siverstars in my foglites.
You might have to trim one of the tabs to get it to pop into the housing.
They work great, only 55or 65 watts if I remember correctly.

Hope this helps

I give up... .. I guess sylvania only makes a silverstar bulb for the 01 up Lightnings.. I can't think of any other company that offers as bright of a foglight bulb with 65 watts.. I tried just about every Sylvania silverstar site I could and cannot find an H3 silverstar bulb... Can anyone else throw me a suggestion?

The SilverStar 9005 will fit your fog lights! They may or may not have to be trimmed a little first. To be sure buy a cheap 9005 see if it fits, put it back in the package, take it back. But, you should have no trouble with the 9005s . . .

Thats the problem..I think on your year Lightning you can use a 9005.. My foglight bulb has a wire attached to the bulb that has a slide on connector.. .. Thanks anyway though
