Would Denso's void the warranty in any way, IT22's on a stock truck? I was wondering if i'd have any problems w/ that. I wouldnt see the problem in it, but just askin...Theyll be in, in anticipation for chip/pulley, any harm in it? Thanks
I have a funny feeling that if you blew a plug and took it in w/ Denso plugs in there you would be in trouble. Thats just my guess though. You will never know for sure what they are going to do until you test em.
Thats not what im asking, Im simply asking if anything happend, blown plug, thrown rod, blown engine, can that be blamed on the colder it22's on a stock engine. would colder plugs cause detonating on a stock engine....let me know
I have over 40,000 miles on my 01 with 20,000 plus on a set of IT-22's and most of that without a chip or pulley. They run GREAT. They are not too cold in my opinion.

Legally, the dealer can't void your warranty over the plugs. Unless of course they cause the failure. Will they hurt the engine? They shouldn't.
Just be careful not to strip out the threads by tightening them to much. Hand tight...then 1/8 turn more...

One more thing I will throw up. The term colder plugs is referring to the plugs ability to disapate heat. Hince they will be not as hot. This allows some crud to build up on the plug.
Running a colder plug has no benifit to a stock set up. When we add pulleys, we increase the heat the engine runs at and the plugs are exposed to more heat. We are then at risk of detonation, due to the heat of the plug being hot enough to ignite gasses before they are suppose to.
That is my "laymans" explanation. Anyone can chime in without my being offended.

No Way. That takes some detonation and high RPM's/compression to accomplish.
If your plugs grow enough crud on them, you may get a miss fire though. Loss of power is the problem there.
I run the IT22's and I have 15lbs of boost compared to stock of 9.
You really should stick with the proper heat range for your set up though. I can't think of any reason to run "colder" plugs than needed.

I would put everything back to stock...just to keep from having to debate it with them.
I am beginning to think you may have a problem.
I don't mean to sound paranoid, but some posters here have some knowledge that the Ford folks browse some of these forums. I might be careful about letting on where you live or any hints on your truck color...LOL.

This isnt for me anyways...i dont even have a lightning...i have a 94 mustang gt. I was aware of the ford ppl readin this stuff so i didnt wanna bring anybody out or anything. i usually just browse the forum cuz i like the trucks.
