I need to "break in" the new head and gaskets a bit before racing. The dealership is saying 500miles... so racing on sunday would risk blowing a gasket, which I don't particularly feel like doing.

I was planning on doing 500 miles on Saturday just because I miss the truck so damn much, but the mechanic said "I really wouldn't race it this weekend."

seeing how I am dying right now not having it for 30 days, I don't want to shove it back into the shop, I'll be submissive for the weekend.

The line was also "the part *should* be here on thursday, but don't get your hopes on it, that way you won't be disappointed"...which would leave Sunday cloudy anyway.
