Thought about Aerodynamics...

ok, i notice some of you have swaped out the side mirrors, i know Loosebolt and RTkilla have, and im pretty sure you guys did that to be more aerodynamic right?

well i tend to like those big ole stock mirrors and was wondering would you accomplish the same thing if you just folded in your mirrors????

after i got the truck washed i was thinking about that.... would it make a difference with them folded in compared to out, or compared to those aftermarket little ones? i dont know just a thought, what do you guys think?

They are defintely smaller than the stock mirrors, but compared to the area of the rest of the truck, they migh decrease the co-efficient of drag by 0.05 .

It should help a little on the top end (100+ mph) but down low you probably wont see any difference in gas mileage.

This is kinda OT but, those of you with Street Scene mirrors, are they top quality, or do they lack in any sense? Do you recommend them?

I did the mirrors cuz they look cool........if I was worried about aerodynamics I would not have bought an L.

TorontoF150: i like them a lot.. you have to get used to the smaller mirror though.

The 30 hp came from the locking lug nuts.

HAHAHHA, aerodynamics!

If I was worried about aerodynamics I would have bought a vette or viper, HEHEHEHE.

I bought my truck for the look, but I'm sure they might help a little bit on the top end. will I ever notice it? I doubt it.

Thumbs up Help with aero

Pull the L motor out and put it one of these. Might stick out the sides a bit, but you'd have the only one. I've ridden in a 230hp Ztec motor R500 and the L would have to be heavily modded to touch it and if you got near a corner forget it.

yes the is a smarta$$ answer .........kindof sortof
