Any probs with TR5's and a 4# ?

Any probs with TR5's and a 4# ?

Can TR5's be run with a 4# and a program burned for the TR6's and 4# in SoCal 68 - 74 degrees? This is only for 2 days of road racing. The plugs will be changed next week when there's time. First concern is detonation, second is power loss?

TR-5's are too hot. I ran a 4lb. for a while with the TR-6's and worked fine. You need a colder plug than the TR-5's, espically with 91 octain.

I Agree 100%, NO GOOD WITH 4LB's
Although some will disagree, WHY TAKE A CHANCE ???
Use Denso IT-22's or TR-6's,

You can always buy the Denso racing plug for about $40/plug since it's only for racing.

I believe Sal has said that the TR5s are in the same heat range as our OEM plugs--not good with a 4 lber especially, when you are going to be in the boost racing.

I ran TR5's with my 4lber for a long while... Didnt have any problems..

I even ran them with my Works Blower for a while too... Sure they arent the ideal plug, but they will work.

When you say "this weekend" are you referring to LACR?

If so, dont EVEN worry about it. LACR is at 3,000' and you wont have any problems at all... That track sucks the boost and power right out of our motors..

I'll be at CA Speedway doing their road coarse. What do you think? Would rather drop the rear with limited time. octane additive for the 2 days maybe to buy time?

They would be fine with the 4lber for drag racing or daily driving. But road racing is a lot more on the gas off the gas in the boost for a long time kind of thing. Those tr5's would never stand a chance i dont think. Good luck and may your plugs be with you at the end.
